Wk2: Positive Comments

 After this week, responding to the discussion questions, and hearing how Professor Claudia explained the impact of a good review especially for small businesses I decided to create a Yelp account and leave reviews for two places I visit regularly. I believe this is a great first step in becoming more aware of the tools I have to support and help businesses grow. The first one was for my favorite restaurant, which I visit every week Tios Mexican Food ( Rancho cucamonga) The second was for my amazing pedicurist at Spotlight Lashes & Nails in Rancho Cucamonga.

Week 2 Part A: Business & Consumers: Communication and Reviews

The way we communicate with businesses has evolved significantly over the years. In the past, customers had to rely on phone calls, letters or in person visits to share their concerns or feedback. Today, socail media has made it easier to connect with companies instantly. A single post can grab a business´s attention faster than an email, and public complaints often lead to quicker resolutions. Companies know that social media visibility matters, so they respond faster to maintain their reputation. Reading reviews, I noticed how much they influence purchasing decisions. Some are detailed and helpful, while others seem driven by emotions rather than facts. It is clear that a single negative review can impact a business, especially a small one. It is necessary being fair when we share opinions. We can have a company reputation in our hands. To be honest, I almost never leave reviews.  Social media is one of the greatest advancements of this era, not only for the development of communication and entertainment it has achieved, but also because it has become a platform for buying and selling, a work tool, and literally the job of some people. All social media platforms are flexible, and if used correctly, they can serve personal or professional purposes. Just like everything in life, its use can lead to the growth or decline of a person or a business. Each social media platform serves a different purpose. Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok,  and, X,  blend both, personal and business uses, where people can promote their work while sharing personal stories or ideas.
